We’re excited to announce that Jamu, your AI powered co-producer for Ableton Live, has officially launched and is available to the open public.

Core Mission

Creative tools are becoming increasingly more capable, but how we interact with these tools has stayed the same since the very beginning. Creating music, what’s been second nature to us, can now feel overwhelming and stressful upon opening music production software.

Jamu’s mission is to support producers by removing friction between creative intent and execution in music creation. We believe in a future where artists use technology as naturally as they use instruments.

By using artificial intelligence as an interface for creativity, not a replacement, we reduce the cognitive overhead for producers, helping artists focus on what they want to create rather than how to operate tools.  AI functions as the invisible execution layer underneath, while the artist remains the source of control, taste, and final judgement.

What is Jamu for Ableton?

Jamu is your personal production studio, reimagined around user intent rather than the execution process. By utilizing AI-enabled natural language processing, we allow the user to control Ableton (and more!) through simple natural language.

We encourage producers to explore ideas they might otherwise ignore, by making experimentation feel natural instead of effortful. Over time, Jamu stops feeling like a tool and starts feeling like a place. A studio where ideas are explored, shaped, and refined before they exist anywhere else.

How it works

Jamu’s interface acts as the primary creative space.

Describe your intent in plain language and Jamu applies your instructions directly to clips, devices, automation directly in Ableton. Every result is editable, reversible, and under your control.

Jamu constantly communicates context and feedback to the producer so that every action made can be understood, adjusted, and redirected by the artist as needed.

The quality of Jamu’s actions will always be reflective of the prompt. The more context Jamu receives in your prompt, the better the end result will be reflective of your initial intent.

Find our producer Kantas' short walkthrough video going through how to enable Jamu, learn how it works with tracks and clips, and build something from scratch using just three prompts.

Initial User Success

During our closed beta, we worked closely with a small group of producers testing Jamu inside real-world projects.

One of them, Andy, a melodic techno producer, received detailed revision notes from a label on an upcoming release. The feedback covered mix clarity, arrangement structure, and specific elements that needed refinement.

Jamu analyzed the label’s feedback and the entire session in context. It examined the arrangement, mix balance, routing, and the specific elements the label had flagged. The result was structured, actionable guidance mapped directly onto the project.

Using this as a roadmap, Andy worked through the revisions methodically together with Jamu. Technical friction was reduced, but creative control remained fully in the producer’s hands.

The result was not just measurable, but audible. The revised project resulted in a leaner, more intentional mix. More importantly, as Andy put it, “a clear difference could be heard.”
