We are opening the first chapter of Jamu. Starting December 9th, Jamu becomes available for closed access testing, which means the product is finally leaving our internal environment and into the hands of real producers. Closed access is our way to bring Jamu to our earliest followers first. Producers who have been tracking what we are building are encouraged to apply, try the product in their own workflow, and work closely with us to shape its future.

A Different Way To Work In Ableton

Jamu is a new way to interact with music production software through natural language. You describe what you want, and Jamu handles the setup, routing, editing, and any other adjustments needed to get there.

In practice, you can ask it to go through sidechain workflows, work together to create synths and bass, or help generate new ideas for old demos. It’s your assistant, co-producer, and a teacher all in one.

We understand how important it is for musicians to stay in complete control of their creative process. With Jamu, it is still your session, your project, and your decisions. Jamu waits patiently for your commands and only does what you instruct it to do. You can accept, reject, or refine any actions made by Jamu inside Ableton at any time.

The essence of Jamu is simple - bridge the gap between thought and creation, without ever taking control away. It removes the common pain-points of music production so you can stay in the creative flow state. With a natural language interface, there’s no new tools or complex menus to learn, you simply launch Jamu and start jamming.

Who Closed Access is For

Closed access is for producers who:

  • Use Ableton Live 12 and meet the current (macOS with Apple chip) requirements.

  • Are curious about new workflows and open to trying a natural language interface

  • Are willing to share genuine feedback and ideas as the product evolves.

You do not have to be a professional producer. What matters most is that you actively want to create music, care about your process, and want to be part of shaping a new way to work inside Ableton.

How to Apply for Jamu Closed Access

If you want to be part of the first group using Jamu, here is how to apply:

  1. Sign up for the Jamu waitlist on our website if you have not already entered.

  2.  Fill out the closed access survey using the link found here.

The survey helps us understand if your device is compatible with the current iteration of Jamu. We will reach out to you with next steps once we onboard the next wave of closed access testers.

What Comes Next

This closed access phase is our opportunity to learn directly from the people who will actually use Jamu in real projects. It is also your opportunity to influence how this product grows, what it prioritizes, and how it fits into modern production workflows.

We are excited to share what we have been building, and even more excited to see what you create with it.

If you want to be part of the earliest chapter of Jamu, we invite you to apply for closed access and join us inside Ableton.
